EMPATPAGI.COM- After the release of the first trailer for the Mortal Kombat reboot, fans have noticed some hints from the other fighting characters involved in the film.
However, although fans are happy to see so many classic fighter characters from this iconic videogame adaptation film appear, such as Liu Kang, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero, there is also a main character in this film whose life path is at the heart of the story: Cole Young ( Lewis Tan).
Cole is an MMA fighter who is destined to fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament to determine the fate of all realms. By looking at some of the hints in the trailer, it could be that Cole is actually the son of Scorpion.
Mortal Kombat: Who Is Cole Young's True Identity
In the early scene of the trailer, it appears that Cole has the MK symbol stamp on his chest, this is a sign of a fighter participating in a competition held by Shang Tsung. Later, when Cole looked in the mirror, a fiery apparition of Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion appeared, possibly indicating a hidden connection between the two of them.
In the Mortal Kombat game itself, Scorpion has a son who has been killed by Quan-Chi in order to turn Hanzo into a revenant, and this trailer also suggests that Hanzo may suffer the same fate as the story in the game.
However, Cole's real identity will likely explain why Hanzō has continued to track him down. Hanzo actually lived during feudal Japan, this also confuses the current theory, how could Hanzo who lived at that time still have children who are also still living in modern times like now?
Theory of Cole is the son of Scorpion will also explain why Shang Tsung wanted Cole dead and Sub-Zero also really wanted to pursue Cole himself, because Sub-Zero's clan really wanted to destroy the entire Shirai Ryu clan forever.
Of course this story would be a very interesting and bold approach if Hanzo passed the Scorpion mask to his son. This is also familiar, because Hanzo himself in the MKX game ALSO took care of Kenshi's son, Takeda, and left the Shirai Ryu clan to him.
